About · Field notes

For operators. By an operator.

Korufi started inside one Houston kitchen, and inside one month’s DoorDash invoice. The rest of the story is below.

Origin

I’m an operator. I’ve worked the line, opened a kitchen, written every margin in a spreadsheet at 2 a.m. before service. The software side came later. I needed it for my own restaurant and couldn’t find anything that respected the bill.

The pain

One Houston restaurant doing $25,000 a month online paid roughly $7,500 in commissions every thirty days. The platforms didn’t just take the margin. They kept the customer list, ran the marketing, set the rules, and owned the search. Google sent “jollof rice Houston” to the marketplace, not to the kitchen that cooked it. The bill came in and the customer relationship walked out the same door.

The wedge

I built the first version for one kitchen. That’s the seed restaurant, African Tasty Hub. It kept working. Other operators on the corridor started asking for the same software, so we rebuilt it as Korufi: same architecture, $179 a month flat, zero percent per-order, your Stripe, your customer list, your domain.

The promise

No percentage of orders. No selling your customer list. No quiet price increases. If anything ever changes, I’ll write it on this page first, dated, before the bill.
